Gabby orders gobby Geldof to shut it during conference rant at financiers
The Dublin multimillionaire told the audience of financial advisers the public hated them and did not trust them.
Stunned guests had their heads in their hands as sports presenter compere Logan told the 65-year-old: “Thank you Bob. I think we’ll end it there.”
Guests at the Intrinsic Financial Services conference later blasted the Boomtown Rats singer as “nauseating” and “cringeworthy”.
Organisers had paid thousands for celebs to fire up the audience. Logan, Geldof, comic Kevin Bridges and exengland rugby union star Lawrence Dal- laglio all made appearances with Karren Brady and ventriloquist Nina Conti.
One guest at the Sofitel London Heathrow event said: “People were getting annoyed. Gabby Logan had to cut him off. He was ranting that nobody had faith in financial advisers or other City people. Apparently city execs are all paid too much. The hypocrisy is nauseating – he’s worth about £30million.”
Some guests walked out. Alan Lazenby, a financial planning consultant from Leeds, said on Facebook: “Just left the Intrinsic conference after listening to Sir Bob Geldof talk s *** about Brexit.”
The Band Aid star stirred controversy in 2012 after it emerged his fortune is protected from some UK taxation because he has “nondom” status.
