Bruce ‘doing great’ after health scare, says his girl

- BY NICOLA FIFIELD

Sir Bruce Forsyth BRUCE Forsyth’s daughter has revealed he is “doing great” after his five days in intensive care.

The star, 89, was rushed to St Peter’s hospital in Chertsey, Surrey, with a serious chest infection.

And since returning by ambulance to his mansion in Wentworth last Friday he has been nursed by devoted wife Wilnelia, 59.

But Julie Forsyth, 58, the second eldest of Bruce’s five daughters, said he is now on the mend.

She added: “I have been to see him at home and he is getting over the chest infection so it’s a bit difficult but he’s doing great.”

She said all six of his children including son JJ, the youngest at 28, had been at his hospital bedside.

“All the girls rallied round, and JJ,” said Julie, from his first marriage to singer Penny Calvert.

Bruce’s manager Ian Wilson said the star was grateful to hard-working NHS staff for saving his life.

He has not fully recovered from two aneurysms and surgery in 2015.

Last April he was too frail to attend the funeral of pal Ronnie Corbett.

Wilnelia said in November: “He is the man that I fell in love with because his brain is still there.

“He has a bit of a problem moving but we still laugh and talk.

“The pain is more emotional. Sometimes we cry – but mostly we laugh.”
