ZLAT’S JUST CRAZY

-

I’VE been sent off enough times to hold my hands up and say I can’t exactly condemn any striker who gets blinded by the red mist.

But I still don’t think Zlatan Ibrahimovic has a leg to stand on with his defence that Tyrone Mings (below) jumped into his elbow.

Come on. Did his teeth also jump out of his mouth and bite you too?!

I’m surprised more people aren’t making a bit more of the striker’s ridiculous claim than they have.

It’s almost as daft as Wayne Rooney saying he saw exactly what happened. How? Through wing mirrors?

I also think that Mings was more harshly treated by getting a bigger suspension.

It looked really bad, but I can’t see how you can prove he meant to stamp on Zlatan’s head – especially when he was looking the other way. Like Rooney!

Zlatan is a top striker who’s proved plenty of people wrong this season, including me. But he has left his side in a bit of a hole with that ban – it’s definitely come at the wrong time for United.

He’ll miss the Chelsea game – a big blow to Jose, in particular, and two important Premier League matches.

I hope he doesn’t cost them a Champions League place for a bit of revenge.

As sweet as that sometimes is...

IT’S a tough crowd, football. Jose Mourinho will go back to Stamford Bridge on Monday night – and I can guarantee 99 per cent of the Chelsea supporters will be glad he’s not their manager. That’s how fickle it is. I’m sure he’ll get a good reception, but the fans have short memories, they’re not interested in history, just instant gratification.

That means Antonio Conte will be the hero, not because he’s necessarily better, but because he’s going to win the league for them.

I don’t suppose it will bother Mourinho that much – but you can bet he will want the win even more than his players do.

I like both as coaches, so I’ll be fascinated to see how the clash turns out.
