Rob job a doddle BUT LEEDS PUSH STUMBLES

- By JANINE SELF at Elland Road

When the striker fails to score there is not a queue of players in white willing or able to step up the plate.

Holloway’s tactics revealed the lack of any Plan B by Leeds, worrying as the season approaches its finale and surprising given Monk’s team had won eight out of nine at home.

He added: “The positives are a clean sheet and a point. We never did enough to win. We were below our usual high standards, especially at Elland Road.

“It wasn’t through a lack of effort, commitment or mentality, but we never reached the levels of recent weeks.”

To say this was two points lost for the promotion challengers would do QPR an injustice.

Three central defenders, two all-action wing backs and a no-nonsense midfield four did the job perfectly.

They also broke danger- ously and might even have nicked it had Washington shown more composure.

In the opening minutes he found himself in space a couple of yards out, but somehow shot wide.

Minutes later he surged into the area only to see Green spread himself wide and block the shot.

If Washington had realised how much space he had, he might have scored in the second half. Instead, he cut inside and shot wide.

Holloway said: “The plan was to bottle them up, counter-attack on the break and cause problems – and we did that.

“We stopped the highest-scoring individual in the country getting a shot or a chance. We knew it needed to be a good performance. Being greedy, I wanted a goal.

“We turned up here, the place is rocking. Well done, Garry, for getting the club back to where it should be.” Possession Shots On Target Shots Off Target Blocked Shots Corners Fouls Conceded Offsides Yellow Cards Red Cards 63% 37% 0 3 2 7 4 3 6 5 8 12 3 3 4 2 0 0
