He’s Scott attributes of a boss

Dundee v Celtic Today, 12.30pm

CELTIC assistant manager Chris Davies is backing captain Scott Brown to be a top boss.

Brown is poised to lead the Hoops to their sixth consecutive league title, and Davies said: “Scott will become a good manager.

“He’s intelligent, he has leadership qualities and he lives the game inside out.

“He’s still got plenty of football left in him at 31 and he’s been really good this year.

“We’re looking forward to the next few years of him performing on the pitch but after that I think he will go into management, and he will be very good if he does.

“Scott is a perfect example of a leader in the dressing room. Every single day he is at his maximum.

“He is one of the best trainers I’ve ever seen. He matches up to the worldclass players I have worked with in terms of mentality.

“He is well-respected, the players follow that as well.

“Senior players are vital. We’ve got that, not just with Scott, but he is the shining example.”

Davies believes that the strong mentality in this current Celtic team comes from the very top.

He added: “Our leader Brendan Rodgers is someone who demands a certain level from himself.

“He demands that level from his followers, the players and the staff.

“He expects you to meet that, therefore you become relentless.”

The Hoops head to Dundee today but Aberdeen’s 2-0 win over Hearts yesterday means they can’t seal the title.

Davies added: “We shape our own destiny and rely on ourselves. It’s a difficult away game for us.”

Midfielder Tom Rogic has resumed light training after a long-term ankle injury but is not ready to return.
