doesn’t happen, you improve and try to come back the next season and win the titles again, that is the point.

“The bosses, the chairmen and directors of sport are going to decide the life of this club, my job and winning titles or not.

“If we don’t win titles, they judge me and, if the results are not good, they are going to say ‘bye bye’. When I came here, I said that I wanted to play well, to win games and win titles as much as possible, definitely. But I think all my colleagues in the Premier League think the same.

“I didn’t come here just to have fun or to play well – I want to win. People believe because Pep is sitting here, they are going to win the title. Easy. But you are wrong.

“I never said City are going to win one title, I never said I was going to win the treble or the double. I never said that.

“I never said that in my first day at Barcelona. I promised a lot of work. Few guys can beat me at that. I work. I am so proud of that. But I never promise titles, never in my life. “Even when I went to Bayern Munich and they won the treble with Jupp Heynckes before I arrived. Never. Just work. And to be assured they are going to play the way I want. The only power I have is this. “I have to have the pleasure to do the job the way I want, not anything else. That’s why the second half in Monaco showed me that, when you attack more and you are more aggressive, you concede fewer goals. “But we are still here, now we are trying to win games to qualify for the Champions League as soon as possible if we can and we still have the semi-finals of the FA Cup. And we are going to try to win that.”
