Church saves family from plane crash

A FAMILY had a lucky escape when a plane crashed into their house while they were at church.

One person on board was killed when the private jet came down near Cobb County International Airport in the US state of Georgia on Friday night.

Neighbours said the family that lived in the house were away at church at the time of the crash.

Duncan Elrod said: “I heard a plane and it sounded like it was flying really, really low.

“There was a boom and huge explosion, and a large fireball.”

He added he believed the pilot may have been trying to land on a road but was unsuccessful.
