‘SICKEST’ MUM & DAUGHTER SIGN UP WITH TV3 DOCTOR

- BY SHARON MCGOWAN

MEET the mother and daughter labelled “one of the sickest doctors have met” after signing up to a TV3 show.

Dublin duo Geraldine Haskin, 54, and daughter Amanda, 31, are the latest to air their bad habits on Doctor In The House.

Before signing up, charity shop worker Amanda tipped the scales at 24st, consumed 7,000 calories daily – more than three times the recommended intake – and smoked heavily.

She also struggled with depression and binged on junk food for comfort.

Mum Geraldine is also obese and has high blood pressure along with a family history of heart and stroke problems. Amanda and Geraldine Haskin

Amanda, who lives in Clondalkin, revealed her social media bullying torment and admitted she was apprehensive.

She told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “My mother signed us both up. She said it would be good for us.

“A few weeks prior to it someone private messaged me, someone I didn’t know, and they called me everything under the sun, like a ‘fat b **** ’.

“I was worried at first because I didn’t want to be attacked again but this is going to be a wartsand-all documentary so I had to tell them the good points and bad points.

“Usually I wouldn’t do that, I’d keep it to myself and let it all build up.”

Doctor In The House is on TV3 at 8.30pm on Wednesday.
