HIDRADENITIS Suppurativa is an incurable (auto-immune) chronic skin condition characterised by recurrent, painful nodules - boil-like lumps or abscesses that can occur in the armpits, groin, perianal area, buttocks or under the breasts.

It is not contagious but may be hereditary. Around 1% of the population are known to suffer with it but many more do not seek medical help.

The condition is commonly misdiagnosed and it’s estimated one in four cases is not properly detected or treated for 10 years or more.
