KOP’S REAL CHANCE OF RODRIGUEZ

- BY CHRIS HATHERALL

LIVERPOOL believe their bid to sign Real Madrid star James Rodriguez is back on – if they make the Champions League.

The Reds have been chasing the Colombian midfielder (below) for some time, but have been consistently knocked back. Suddenly, though, the situation in Spain has changed. The 25-year-old is out of favour with coach Zinedine Zidane and is now looking for a move amid reports he has been offered to Chelsea as part of an Eden Hazard deal.

That is unlikely as Chelsea don’t want to sell. But the news has reignited Liverpool’s interest in one of the Brazil 2014 World Cup stars.

A Real Madrid source said: “It seems Zidane is not satisfied with the player. The player isn’t happy and it appears a move in the summer is feasible.”
