Their draw with Kerry last weekend moved them level with the great Kingdom team of the early 1930s who also went 34 games unbeaten across the League and Championship. And the four-in-a-row League holders had no trouble dispatching troubled Roscommon with Flynn and Kevin Mcmanamon blasting the goals.

It was a whitewash in truth and Roscommon’s stay in Division One is officially over after their sixth consecutive defeat.

They’re the only team in Ireland still without a win in the League and it was obvious why as Dublin savaged them from the start.

Flynn’s first quarter goal put Dublin on their way and the Fingallians man summed up the spirit of the team by keeping the pressure on until full-time.

Manager Gavin played down the new record and said: “I can’t control what people talk about. It’s about the team. It’s not been mentioned by the players. It’s al- ways been about the next game. We’ll review that game obviously and try to learn from it and there is some learning from it, that’s for sure. We’ll just move on to a really competitive game against Monaghan.” There was a boost with the return of Diarmuid Connolly to the bench following club action with St Vincent’s and he came on for Brian Fenton and scored a point.

Dublin were almost out of sight after just 15 minutes when they led 1-5 to 0-2.

Niall Scully and Bernard Brogan kicked early points while Mcmanamon and Paddy Andrews won frees that Dean Rock converted.

Then came the 15th minute goal which was dispatched from close range by Flynn after a brilliant catch and layoff by Brogan.

Dublin led 1-9 to 0-4 at the half-hour mark and could have been further clear but Brogan skewed a shot wide.
