TV’S Catastrophe writer tipped for glory
The acting duo – also called Sharon and Rob on screen – have described the comedy as “an unromantic look at romance”.
One US critic called it “the best rom-com you will ever see” as it exposes the reality of a pair trying to raise an unplanned baby.
Sharon, 46, and 40-year-old comic Rob co-wrote the scripts, much of which is based on their own experiences. Horgan & inset, with Delaney The show looks set to turn Sharon, who was born in London but raised in Bellewstown, Co Meath, into a major US star. One TV executive said: “Catastrophe is giving Sharon Horgan a huge profile. “Most Americans would not know her name but this show has put her on the map and has revealed she is a real original.” Sharon, sister of former Irish rugby ace Shane Horgan, 38, was also the writer for Divorce, starring Sarah Jessica Parker.
