Memorial for chopper crash victim
Ciaran Smith HUNDREDS of people attended a service in memory of Rescue 116 victim Ciaran Smith in Dublin yesterday.
The winch operator died alongside his fellow crew members Captain Dara Fitzpatrick, Mark Duffy and Paul Ormsby after their helicopter crashed off the coast of Mayo on March 13.
Tragically Ciaran’s and Paul’s bodies were never recovered.
The service, at Ciaran’s local church in Oldtown, North Co Dublin, was attended by his wife and three children – as well as family members, friends, members of the Irish coastguard, the air corps, An Garda Siochana and local residents.
