Bumpy ride for new cab book­ing app

CAB book­ing ser­vice my­taxi ad­mit­ted yes­ter­day “tech grem­lins” pre­vented some users from mak­ing book­ings af­ter its changeover from Hailo.

Sev­eral pas­sen­gers com­plained of prob­lems get­ting taxis via the mo­bile phone app which re­placed its pre­de­ces­sor af­ter a com­pany merger in March.

My­taxi has spent €5mil­lion on an ad cam­paign to pro­mote the new name.

The com­pany’s App Store list­ing has re­ceived a string of one-star re­views fol­low­ing the switch.

My­taxi de­scribed the move as “one of the largest app mi­gra­tions ever taken place in Europe”.

It added in a state­ment: “Of course, there are tech grem­lins and chal­lenges along the way.”
