Stars Stiller and Tay­lor call­ing it a day af­ter 18 years


BEN Stiller and his wife Chris­tine Tay­lor are split­ting af­ter 18 years to­gether.

The Hol­ly­wood cou­ple re­vealed the break-up in a joint state­ment in the US on Fri­day. Is­sued to En­ter­tain­ment To­day, it read: “With tremen- dous love and re­spect for each other, and the 18 years we spent to­gether as a cou­ple, we have made the de­ci­sion to sep­a­rate. “Our pri­or­ity will con­tinue to be rais­ing our chil­dren as de­voted par­ents and the clos­est of friends.”

Comic Ben, 51, whose hit films in­clude The Se­cret Life of Wal­ter Mitty, and Chris­tine, 45, an ac­tress, met on the set of Fox TV pi­lot Heat Vi­sion and Jack in 1999. They mar­ried the fol­low­ing year in Kauai, Hawaii.

The stars have chil­dren Ella Olivia, 15, and Quin­lin Dempsey, 12. In an in­ter­view 10 years ago, Meet The Fock­ers star Ben said of meet­ing Chris­tine: “When I met her, I pretty much thought, ‘That’s the per­son’.

“It was like, ‘Wow, this is a great per­son. I love her’.”

The cou­ple starred to­gether in come­dies in­clud­ing Zoolan­der, Zoolan­der 2, Dodge­ball, Tropic Thun­der and Ar­rested De­vel­op­ment.

In Oc­to­ber last year, Ben re­vealed he had bat­tled prostate can­cer in 2014.

And in an­other in­ter­view he said the se­cret of his suc­cess­ful mar­riage was “a sense of hu­mour.”

He added: “I think you got to laugh, be­cause af­ter a while, you know, life is life.”
