- BY DAN WARBURTON BY ROYAL COMMENTATOR BY PHIL CARDY

“This is obviously a particularly sad year for the royals. It is important to them that George and Charlotte are able to show their respects.”

William was 15 and Harry only 12 when their mother was killed in a car crash in Paris on

August 31, 1997. Her Wills and George death sent shockwaves around the world. The brothers are to put up a statue of Diana in the public gardens at Kensington Palace, her London home.

And the Diana Award, which promotes her belief in the positive power of young people, is staging a year-long celebration PRINCESS Diana was way ahead of her time. Yesterday William and Kate were joined by Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, 53, and her sisters, Lady Sarah Mccorquodale, 62, and Baroness Fellowes, 60.

The grave, on the family estate at Althorp House, Northants,

and drive. Diana more than anyone brought the Royals kicking and screaming into the modern world.

Her death made the royal family realise they had lessons to learn.

William and Harry live determined, as Diana, to use their status to help the less fortunate. They are her living legacy.
