Blind puppy’s bond is there for all to see

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

A BLIND puppy has been given his own guide dog to lead him around.

Little Stevie – named after singer Stevie Wonder – is guided by fellow shihtzu Max after being born with the eye condition microphthalmia.

The pair have melted hearts at the animal rescue shelter where they live – and staff hope to rehome them together.

Sara Rosser, of Hope Rescue Centre in Pontypridd, near Cardiff, said: “Stevie relies on Max to guide him in new situations and their bond is lovely to see.

“Stevie is a happy dog who manages very well, as long as he has his best friend by his side.

“They will make loving, affectionate and fun dogs for their new family.”
