It’s time to get priorities right

-

WE have spent billions bailing out the banks yet we can’t give a young girl the vital drug she needs to lead a normal life.

It costs €400,000 a year for Vimizim which helps young Cezara Focsa cope with her rare genetic condition Morquio – but surely a price can’t be put on a human life?

As we all go about our own normal busy lives, young Cezara struggles to muster even the smallest amount of energy when not on the medication.

This drug has vastly improved her quality of life since she was first included in trials back in 2011.

It’s time that children like Cezara are given the care and attention they deserve.
