Home Alone dad, 72, dies in hotel room
Star had back op ACTOR John Heard – the dad in the Home Alone films – has died aged 72.
The Hollywood star was found dead in a hotel room by a maid on Friday.
He is said to have had minor back surgery on Wednesday and was staying at the hotel in Palo Alto, California, to recover.
John appeared in several huge movies including Big, Beaches, Gladiator and The Pelican Brief. And he won an Emmy as a guest star in The Sopranos.
But his most popular role was as Peter Mccallister – forgetful dad of Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin – in 1990’s Home Alone and its 1992 sequel. The films grossed €390million.
