Alfredo’s Song can call tune
IGNORE Sixties Song at your peril in next Saturday’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
That’s the warning from the Argentinian raider’s trainer Alfredo Gaitan Dassie ahead of the 50-1 shot’s bid to lower favourite Highland Reel’s colours in the Ascot midsummer feature.
“We know that we have a good horse, and hope he can show it when the moment calls,” said Dassie whose three-year-old, the intended mount of Jamie Spencer, is due to arrive at his temporary Newmarket base today.
“We are giving an advantage by switching hemispheres, but if he doesn’t feel the effects of the travel, Sixties Song can play a big role.”
