OX READY TO MOVE ON

- BY JOHN CROSS

ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN insists his contract stand-off has nothing to do with money.

He is ready to quit Arsenal this summer as he has only one year left on his contract and has turned down two new offers.

The midfielder has made it clear he is not holding out for money, but is ambitious and desperate to push himself and realise his full potential. Oxlade-chamberlain (below) has a lot of respect for Arsene Wenger and the fans, but believes his future may lie elsewhere.

Liverpool are keen, while Chelsea are also watching developments.

Gunners boss Wenger has held face-to-face talks with Oxlade-chamberlain during the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and China. The 23-year-old has refused to discuss his future in interviews while on tour, but he knows Wenger wants to keep him. Wenger made it clear that he will push for a better deal for him, but the player insists it is purely down to furthering his career rather than money and he is hoping the fans remain patient and supportive.
