New agony for love crisis model Happiest with Peter, regrets Alex
KATIE Price has revealed her mum is dying of a lung illness.
The troubled model told how 64-year-old Amy “hasn’t got very long to live” after tests at hospital.
The devastating news comes after Katie, 39, revealed last week her marriage was over, claiming husband Kieran Hayler had cheated on her with their nanny.
Now the three-times-married mother of five is trying to come to terms with her mum’s illness, saying she’s determined to stay positive.
Amy has also opened up about being told how poorly she was, and how Katie’s humour helped her cope with her diagnosis at the hospital.
She said: “During the tests, which were really quite personal, she was making so many funny comments that both myself and the specialist were in fits of laughter.
“That’s what I like about Katie – her sense of humour. I was given some bad news.

“She said, ‘Mum, you haven’t got long left, you might as well make the most of it.
“Carry on – you’re getting old but at least you know what you’re going to die of ’.”
Loose Women star Katie said: “She’s got something wrong with her lungs and she’s been told she hasn’t got very long to live. She’s on tablets.”
She told how she tried to lift the mood in the hospital by cracking jokes. “My mum is laughing with the specialist,” said Katie.
“At least I’m making her laugh. Whatever is happening we’ve got to be upbeat about it.”
Katie and her mum are very close. Amy helps look after the star’s 15-year-old son Harvey, who was born blind.
In March, Katie and Amy appeared on Loose Women together for a Mother’s Day special and spoke of their love for each other.
Meanwhile, in her touring Audience With Katie Price one woman show in Blackpool on Friday night, Katie made reference to her 30-year-old third husband Kieran’s alleged infidelity.
When asked if her family liked horse riding, she said: “Kieran likes riding. He likes riding me… and others.”
Opening up about her previous relationships, she called ex-husband Peter Andre the “love of her life” and said her biggest regret was marrying Alex Reid. Katie and Peter, 44, met on I’m A Celeb in 2004. She said as soon she saw him she thought, “I well fancy him”.
Of their romance, she added: “We were obsessed with each other, I never had a relationship quite like that before.

“He was the love of my life, I never wanted to split up with him, but we did and that’s that.” Katie brought Junior, her 12-year-old son with Peter, along to the Blackpool show. On stage he asked her why she married her second husband, cage fighter Alex Reid, 42. She replied: “I was trying to get over your dad.” Katie then claimed she “only wanted to be married once”, and revealed she was miserable with Kieran adding: “If you’re not happy just get out – that’s what I say.” Earlier this year, Katie was accused of cheating with Tom Zanetti, a DJ she worked with on a pop single. janine.yaqoob@ trinitymirror.com With Peter
