Comic Rosie’s heartache at ex-wife death

TALK show host Rosie O’donnell has spoken of her sadness on hearing her former partner had died of an apparent suicide.

Her ex-wife Michelle Rounds was found dead at her home earlier this week.

The couple were married in a hospital ceremony in 2012 while Rounds was being treated for benign tumours and shortly after comedian O’donnell had suffered a heart attack.

They split in 2015 and engaged in a custody battle over their then two-yearold daughter Dakota which ended last year with O’donnell being awarded sole custody.

She said in a statement: “I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy.

“Mental illness is a very serious issue.”
