X Factor lad: I was robbed – before I got on the show

- BY AMY SHARPE

Wannabe Gregor X FACTOR hopeful Gregor Coleman has told how he was robbed, threatened and heckled as he plied his trade as a busker.

The tattooed wannabe, who was last night voted through to round two, faced rowdy crowds in his native Glasgow and other cities across the UK.

He said: “Busking can be quite scary. I work at night a lot and you get hecklers, drunks coming up wanting to sing and then you get guys trying to start fights.

“And I’ve been robbed – in Manchester. I shouted in the mic that someone had stolen money and this guy that was watching went and got it back.”

Gregor, 24, says the experiences gave him a “backbone” in his bid to hit the big time. But he admits facing the X Factor judges was “more terrifying”.

He got off to a shaky start but sailed through after Simon Cowell told him to have another go with a second song.

And Gregor, who has a huge butterfly tattoo on his neck, joked: “If Simon said ‘if you get me tattooed on you, you will win The X Factor’ then I’d happily get his face tattooed on mine!”
