Tourist tells of his hor­ror knife at­tack

A BRI­TISH man was stabbed and left for dead by a mug­ger while on hol­i­day in Tener­ife.

Thomas Han­lon, 32, was yes­ter­day re­cov­er­ing in hos­pi­tal after be­ing knifed in the stom­ach dur­ing the at­tack in the re­sort of Playa de las Amer­i­cas.

He was at­tacked in the early hours of Fri­day and had to be taken to hos­pi­tal by am­bu­lance after he was found ly­ing un­con­scious in the street.

A Na­tional Po­lice spokesman said: “The mo­tive for this at­tack was rob­bery. Luck­ily the vic­tim, who is here on hol­i­day, is now out of dan­ger.”

Playa de las Amer­i­cas is known for its nightlife.
