Producer Shawn Levy hinted as much when he said: “The plan is to continue with this set of characters while introducing a few critical key new ones.
“A lot of the big mysteries get answered at the end of season one but we are kind of unearthing new problems and questions that merit future stories and future investigation in the most enjoyable way.” Matt Duffer, co-creator of the show, said the monsters are central to this series.
He added: “It’s all connected to this singular threat. Each episode is building on the last one. It gets much crazier than it ever got in season one.”

was last seen being attacked by the Demogorgon in the school, but Duffer has given a strong hint that it isn’t the end of the devious scientist.
He said: “I would say that if we were going to kill Brenner, if that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me, when the monster jumps on him and we cut away.
“He would deserve much more than that as an ending.”
