Husband’s fury at ‘heartless’ troll who accused mother on 25th anniversary of horror

- BY PHIL CARDY

A TROLL who attacked James Bulger’s mum Denise Fergus has been slammed as “heartless”.

Husband Stuart Fergus hit out after Denise was accused of “not looking after James”.

The troll messaged Denise following an ITV documentary on the 25th anniversary of the boy’s murder.

Furious Stuart said of the troll: “Check the police records which state all CCTV was checked. He wasn’t left to ‘run’ around the shopping centre.

“Denise states she let go of his hand to get her purse and pay for some food... turned round and he was gone. Read her book, you absolute cretin.

“Some people are so heartless and don’t seem to care... what an idiot!

“She didn’t leave James outside the shop.” The youngster was taken from the Strand shopping centre in Bootle, Merseyside, while out with his mum.

In the programme, Denise told of her grief, her relentless pursuit of justice and her long journey towards forgiving herself.

The profile of the woman who made the callous comments belonged to a gran in the North West of England. Yesterday the account was locked.

Denise said: “I have been overwhelmed by thousands of kind messages and donations to our ‘For James’ charity. I can hardly express how deeply moved and touched I have been. “The tiny number posting negative comments are not worthy of comment. They are sickening.” In July 2016 a troll was jailed for sending vile tweets to Denise. Stuart and Denise
