Karen’s on the Clift edge

Controversial dancer faces axe from Strictly for ‘bad’ behaviour

- EXCLUSIVE BY JANINE YAQOOB Acting TV Editor

KAREN Clifton was last night facing an uncertain future on Strictly due to her “confrontational” behaviour.

But the pro dancer’s husband Kevin looks set to stay, amid continued rumours their marriage is in trouble. Karen has got some people’s backs up on the BBC show over the years and insiders claim she may follow Brendan Cole, 41, out of the door following his shock sacking last month after 13 years on Strictly.

A source said: “Strictly pros are contracted for each season.

“Karen’s participation next series is in doubt. But Kevin is safe. He is loved why everyone.

“Feelings are mixed on Karen. They don’t want the show to be associated with the negative publicity generated by her actions.” Fellow dancers have in the past spoken out against Karen – who once made Ola Jordan cry in a heated row.

Bosses are said to be already looking at possible replacements for her. One name in the frame is Luba Mushtuk, a choreographer on the recent Strictly tour.

Strictly said last night: “The professional dancers line up will be announced in due course.”

Karen and dancer Kevin, both 35, have not been spotted together for months. There were rumours she had a fling after she was snapped leaving her house with accountant Stuart Wood.

Last night Strictly said: “The professional dancers line up will be announced in due course.”
