Save The 8th protesters in Dublin march

Crowds yesterday THOUSANDS of people in favour of keeping the Eighth Amendment marched through Dublin yesterday.

The rally began at Merrion Square in the capital, with no official figures of attendance released. However, it’s estimated more than 15,000 people took part.

A referendum on the right to life of the unborn is expected to take place in May or June.

The pro-life advocates also highlighte­d the rights of those people with disabiliti­es and said Ireland’s proposed new abortion laws would be “more liberal than the UK”.

A spokesman for the Save The 8th said their aim was to “say no to abortion in Ireland”. Shane Ross
