Mum in acid attack ‘over birth of girl’

A WOMAN was badly injured after her husband allegedly threw acid in her face when she had a baby girl – as he wanted a boy.

Farah Biwi, 25, has horrific burns on her face, hands and stomach following the incident on March 7.

Siraj Biwi, 32, is wanted for voluntarily causing grievous bodily harm using acid and is the subject of a police manhunt.

He has been missing since the attack in Moradabad, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The couple were married for eight years and have two female children.

Farah is being treated in hospital in New Delhi.
