Gary’s mum in his finest hour Bankrupt Corrie star to tell all in money-spinning autobiography

It will cover his 35 years on the cobbles and detail the hell he endured in his harrowing child sex abuse trial.

Le Vell, 53, hopes the warts-and-all book will set the record straight about his troubled life.

It emerged last week the actor was declared bankrupt earlier this year under his real name Michael Robert Turner, despite his €280,000-a-year wages. Sources say he owes HMRC a “six figure sum” in tax.

He also had to pay hundreds of thousands in legal fees as he battled successfully to clear his name in 2013.

Le Vell started writing his book during his enforced absence from Corrie caused by his trial. It is expected to be out before the end of the year.

A friend said: “Michael has a lot of tales to tell and parts of his book could be explosive. The Street has been his life and he has some amazing stories about everyone he has worked with.

“It will also tackle the darkest period of his life when he faced those allegations. There was a lot written about him before, during and after the trial.

“This is his chance to put his side HERE’S Gary Oldman making good on his award speech promise: “Get the kettle on Mum, I’m bringing Oscar.” Londoner Gary, 59 – who won Best Actor award for playing Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour – was in LA with Kay, 98, and wife Gisele. Posting a snap of her hubby with his mum holding the Oscar, Gisele wrote: “Kay’s wanted this for Gary ever since he became an actor.” With his mum as the star, Gary is clearly happy in a supporting role. Dgdgd across about everything.” The friend revealed Le Vell forked out around €250,000 in legal fees fighting false allegations he abused an under-age girl from the age of six until she was 14. The source added: “He doesn’t think that was fair as he was cleared. He was dragged through the legal system and was constantly in the spotlight.”

But UK Ministry of Justice rules prevent people who can afford their defence from receiving tax-funded paybacks after the case.

Dad-of-two Le Vell is also expected to give his side of the story over his alcoholism, allegations of drug taking, the collapse of his 25-year marriage to actress Janette Beverley, 51, and claims of how he cheated on her in a series of one-night stands.

Last year he was reportedly offered a €280,000-a-year contract to continue playing mechanic Kevin, the part he has played since 1983. Since his trial he has fought to give up booze and settled down with girlfriend Louise Gibbons, 42.
