Charity chief urges action on sex claims
THE boss of scandal-hit Save the Children has warned aid chiefs must not “bury our heads in the sand” over sex claims.
Kevin Watkins said reports of abuse in his charity were “disturbing” and vowed to stamp it out.
He said: “Being defensive or burying our heads in the sand is not the smart thing to do. A lot of the press coverage has been very uncomfortable.
“But we owe the journalists a debt of gratitude, they have turned a spotlight on things that need to be addressed.”
The charity started an independent review after it was rocked by sex scandals in recent weeks.
