tribute in tonight’s TV show, recalls: “We would stand faceto-face, tip our head back and he would say: ‘Oh look, it’s Tower Bridge’. Then there were the love child gags and I would say: ‘Mum says you only popped out for a pint of milk and 29 years later you haven’t come back’! It was wonderful to feel that you were having a gag with Brucie.”

Anton also tells of his sorrow at losing Brucie, adding: “Strictly is still a great show but it’s not the same without him. I miss him terribly. He was my hero growing up, a very dear friend and, in many ways, he became like a dad to me.”
