Yates hits heights to take lead in battle of Nice

SIMON YATES climbed to victory on stage seven of the Paris-nice to take the overall lead before today’s final day.

The Lancashire rider took the 175km mountain stage by eight seconds from Belgium’s Dylan Teuns and Jon Izaguirre of Spain to lead the classification by 11 seconds. Today’s 110km decider will be fast and furious with six climbs before a 9km drop in to Nice.
