MAKE FLY’S WISH COME TRUE Stack’s star looks a cut above at Dundalk as he looks to boost 1000 form

- BY RYAN MCELLIGOTT

This seven-furlong contest looks one of the more interesting races at Dundalk’s final meeting before July 12.

Wishing Star only ran once last season and showed plenty of promise at this venue in September when finishing third in a maiden won by I Can Fly.

The winner lines up with a live chance in the 1000 Guineas just half-an-hour after this contest and Wishing Star can underline the value of that one’s debut victory.

The Fozzy Stack-trained daughter of Galileo appeals as one that could make up into a smart sort this summer and it is worth noting she holds a host of big- race entries.

She could have most to fear from Rionach, who finished fourth in the same maiden won by I Can Fly.

Previously, Rionach showed up well in a conditions race at the Curragh and she too looks sure to make her mark in a maiden this summer.

In the first of several tricky handicaps, the capable Queluz can progress from an encouraging return to action at this track last month. Over a trip that was slightly short of his best, he was noted putting in some good late work at the finish to be beaten just over a length into fourth by A Likely Story.

The step up to a mile this afternoon will work in his favour and he should be all the better for that comeback run.

In the seven-furlong handicap, Time Stands Still is put forward to build on a couple of encouraging runs.

She showed up well in a Lingfield handicap last time, while prior to that she was just touched off by Bluesbreaker over this course and distance.

She has first-time cheek pieces to aid her cause and she might just see off the dual course winner Boxer Dunford.

In the mile and a half conditions race, it is hard to look past the claims of Joseph O’brien’s Light Pillar.

On ratings he is well treated by the race conditions and his rider claims a very useful 10lb.

Easy Boy was only just denied here on Wednesday evening and he might go a place better in the mile and a half handicap.

Elsewhere, Servalan is a hopeful choice to make a winning debut in the two-year-old maiden.

She is a daughter of a top class juvenile in No Nay Never and her trainer sent out a juvenile newcomer to win at this track during the week.
