UFC star Conor Mcgregor has thrown a lavish party to celebrate his son’s first birthday.

The bash, which is estimated to have cost tens of thousands of euro, was held at the K Club Hotel in Co Kildare yesterday afternoon.

Proud parents Conor and Dee Devlin could be seen enjoying the party, which was held in a secluded area away from the public, in the afternoon sun.

Large coloured balloons were placed around the perimeter of the celebration including a large letter design that spelled out “Happy Birthday”.

Guests including Mcgregor’s mum Margaret started to arrive after 4pm.

It’s also believed many of the star’s fighting partners attended the party.

Those attending the get-together were greeted with a sign that said “Conor Jr Mcgregor’s first birthday fiesta”.

A live jazz band played music for guests who enjoyed a BBQ that was organised by a catering company.

The party, which was closed off to members of the public by security guards, included kids’ entertainers and games.

A large inflatable slide was also brought in for the children to play on.

A marquee was erected for partygoers if they wanted to unwind and enjoy their food indoors. An outdoor bar was also available for guests. Conor and Dee could be seen posing for pictures as a private photographer captured their little boy’s special day.

The dapper fighter, 29, wearing a blue shirt and white shorts, could be seen happily playing with Conor Jr.

It’s not the first big party the couple have thrown for the tot after they arranged an extravagant christening for their boy at Luttrellstown Castle, near Dublin, last year.

The celebration comes just weeks after the Notorious was arrested and charged in New York with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief by police.

The Dubliner was taken into custody after presenting himself at a police station.

Officers wanted to question him after footage emerged online appearing to show him throw a trolley at a bus carrying rival fighters at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

He will return to New York on June 14 for his next court hearing, along with teammate Cian

Cowley who was also charged. Mcgregor was released on bail of $50,000.

The Notorious, valued at €85million, has set the record for growing the fastest fortune by an Irish sportsman.

Most of his wealth came from his defeat last year in a €140million boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.

Rumours are growing that Mcgregor could take on the US legend in a mixed martial arts bout.
