Former Emmerdale star Gemma Oaten, 34, spoke out as Nick, 55, ramps up his relationship with 25-year-old marketing executive Rebecca Kearns.
They have holidayed in Hollywood and a friend said: “It’s getting serious.”
Gemma was heartbroken when, as the Sunday Mirror revealed in October 2016, Nick dumped her for his estranged wife as they lay in bed.
Since then she has also split from film producer Scott Walker, who she lived with.
She said: “I wish I’d never met Nick as it’s haunted me ever since. He is quite similar to Scott, they are both very egotistical men. It was impossible to be with them.”
She said her relationship with Scott started crumbling after a magazine shoot. She said: “Every day Gemma falsely accused we were arguing. It wasn’t a nice time, I left to stay with friends.” After five months Gemma started dating her panto co-star Stuart Earp, who had split from his fiancée. But as with her fling with Nick, who was estranged from wife Jessica Rose Moor at the time, Gemma was branded a home wrecker. Gemma said: “My name seems to get dragged through the mud a lot in relationships and it always seems to be the woman that gets tarnished with that awful brush. It was hurtful to my mum and dad who are going through a lot at the minute. Especially when we know the truth.”
Gemma, who appeared in Holby City last week, is organising an event for her parents’ charity Seed, Support & Empathy for Eating Disorders, on May 29. She is also set to star in new romcom, Made You Look.
Nick Knowles’ spokesman declined to comment.
