US asking for more time on migrant cases
THE US government has asked for more time to reunite migrant families separated at the Us-mexico border.
It has now emerged some children’s parents have been deported.
During a court hearing on Friday a government attorney said 19 parents of children under the age of five held in custody had left the country.
The justice department has a deadline to release the children by Tuesday.
However, it says that more time is needed to perform the necessary identity checks.
A status hearing is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
