Shock death of groom on honeymoon

A NEWLYWED has told how her husband died of lung cancer four days into their honeymoon.

Aimee Simms said her husband Alan, 31, thought he had food poisoning while in Cape Verde.

But after going to a clinic his condition worsened quickly.

A post mortem revealed lung cancer despite him having no symptoms.

Aimee, 33, of Morley, Leeds, said: “At the clinic they asked me to leave as things got worse.

“After an hour they asked me to go in a room and that’s when I knew he was dead.”

Gardener Alan’s death came just eight days after his wedding.

His mother Josie said: “It’s some peace of mind he didn’t know about it.”
