They’re the Angels set to save The X Factor – Robbie Williams and wife Ayda Field have been signed as judges.
Things are normally frosty with your ex, but Simon Cowell likes to keep things chilled.
The X Factor judge hung out at an ice cream parlour with old flame Terri Seymour, 46, AND partner Lauren Silverman, 40, before hitting the shops.
They were joined by Simon and Lauren’s son Eric, four, and Terri’s girl Coco, three. Both kids had a taste for mint-choc ice cream – and thumb sucking.
The €367million pop mogul dated TV star Terri from 2002 to 2008. Si, 58, is on famously good terms with his exes.
An onlooker in Malibu, US, said: “They all seemed totally at ease. For some people it would be a nightmare but they seem to get along great.” Si’s squad stocked up on pink and blue toy spades at the supermarket. Just don’t take a dig at Daddy,
Eric.
And the year’s biggest TV coup could only have been arranged by showbiz genius and music boss Simon Cowell.
Speaking for the first time about the epic signing, Simon, 58, tells me: “How cool is that? It’s the best story – it’s a very funny story.
“It all kind of worked out without me even asking him.
“He came down to Britain’s Got Talent, had such a good time that night and goes, ‘you know what, this is fun’.
“He comes back to my house... ‘Can we do a deal?’ We do a deal. I think it’s the best thing. And you know, because she (Ayda) is a member of the public, that makes it better.”
Ayda, 39, is a regular on ITV’S Loose Women, while former Take That star and Angels singer Robbie, 44, is working on solo projects.
And I’m told an announcement about the full line-up is expected soon, with Sharon Osbourne, 65, also returning.
I caught up with Simon at the Barclaycard VIP Experience at British Summer Time Hyde Park as we watched Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters.
After arriving on site in a Rolls-royce, Simon enjoyed the show with partner Lauren Silverman, 40, and his friend Jonathan Shalit. Kate Moss, Liv Tyler and Sadie Frost also joined in.
But the most coveted party ticket of the summer is on Monday, when Simon holds his own glitzy bash for his record label Syco. I can’t wait.
