Probe after man killed in house blaze

A 59-YEAR-OLD man died in a house fire in the early hours of yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the blaze in Co Cork at around 12.45am, where they found the tragic victim in an unresponsive state.

Despite providing him with emergency aid, the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

The fire occurred at High Street in Drimoleague.

The scene remained sealed off yesterday as forensic examiners worked on establishing the cause.
