RTE set to brighten our autumn nights

New drama and old faces in telly line-up for rest of 2018

Gleeson. Amy Huberman tops the comedy offerings on RTE Two with Finding Joy, a six-part series she wrote and also stars in alongside Aisling Bea and Laura Whitmore.

It follows the misadventu­res of lead character Joy (Huberman) as she looks for happiness in all the wrong places after a relationsh­ip break-up.

Black comedy Women on the Verge, written by Catastroph­e co-creator Sharon Horgan and based on Lorna Martin’s novel, will also air on RTE Two. It is set in Dublin and stars Kerry Condon, Nina Sosanya and Eileen Walsh as well as Horgan herself.

On the entertainm­ent front the usual suspects return including The Late Late Show, with a one-off from London in October, and Dancing With The Stars.

Daniel and Majella O’donnell take their B&B road trip Stateside, travelling from Chicago to North Dakota. Marty Morrissey and Bernard O’shea continue the bromance they started on DWTS as they take to the road for an adventure of their own. Vogue Williams will bring three more documentar­ies, Baz Ashmawy “plays wingman” in aptlytitle­d Wingman and Young Offenders Conor and Jock also return. RTE is partnering with the BBC for Northern Ireland drama Death and Nightingal­es, Mother’s Day and sex trade expose Doing Money. Brendan O’carroll is back both as Mrs Brown and for a one-off exploring Ireland’s unique relationsh­ip with the UK, while RTE viewers will see the hit new assassin drama Killing Eve first.
