They were really afraid they weren’t going to be together, that was the hardest part, seeing people so close to me so upset and so devastated.

“On election night, I was in my house in Dallas, texting them. I was trying to talk them down off a ledge, saying I’m sure the next result will be fine. But we all know how that turned out. They were really upset.”

Stormy, who has appeared in porn movies and stars in a touring strip show in the US, has no regrets about her career. She says she wouldn’t stop her daughter, aged seven, following in her footsteps when she grows up.

But she has previously said she wishes she’d never met Trump.

She told the Mirror she’d feel “icky” if she was defined by the alleged affair.

Yet she admits there are some things she secretly loves.

She said: “I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that some days I’m having an absolute blast. Penthouse made me the Pet of the Century, I got the key to the city of West Hollywood. How can you say that’s not awesome?

“I’ve had an incredible life and I’ve had so many opportunities.

“There’s a chance I’d still live in Baton Rouge if I hadn’t done porn. There’s nothing wrong with that, but here I am in England now, b*tch!”
