Metro shelves pitch axe plan

NA Fianna GAA club pitches are no longer being considered as a tunnelling site for the proposed Metrolink, it has emerged.

Bids to use the facility in Glasnevin, North Dublin, have been shelved in the latest draft revision to plans, which will be published in the new year.

The original €3billion proposal would have seen the famous club lose its main pitch on Mobhi Road and two all-weather pitches for up to six years.
