LUCKY CHARM

Davids to go Flat out

The 2018 Irish flat season comes to a close today and easily the highlight of the final day is a highly competitive looking edition of the feature race.

Willie Mullins fields 10 runners while other likely types include last month’s Irish Cesarewitch winner Brazos.

However, Davids Charm is the one to side with as he looks to build on his excellent second then.

That was only his fifth outing on the flat so he should be open to further progress while a repeat of that last effort would put him in with every chance.

It is a concern that the John Joe Walsh-trained gelding is drawn widest of all but hopefully that starting position won’t cause him too much trouble.

He might have most to fear from the Mullins-trained Uradel who finished a superb second in last month’s English Cesarewitch.

Meanwhile, the card concludes with the Listed Finale Stakes and this should fall to the Mullins yard courtesy of Riven Light.
