Frank’s got ’em buzzing

- By HECTOR NUNNS at Griffin Park

BRENTFORD boss Thomas Frank admitted his first win in the hotseat was a big relief.

Goals from Sergi Canos and substitute Ollie Watkins handed the Dane the victory against Millwall, after three losses since taking over from Dean Smith.

But Frank (below) won’t wallow in the glory – instead he hopes the success will kickstart a stalled season that saw Brentford second in mid-september.

The Bees had gone eight league games without a win and Frank said: “It felt good, we needed that. It’s not about me – it’s about us.

“We had all been suffering a bit. Now we can hopefully get back on a winning streak.”

Millwall have only taken two points away this season and boss Neil Harris said: “What we mustn’t do is get on a high when we win at home, and then go down when we lose away.

“We have to find a way away from home of being better for 90 minutes.”

Brentford went close when Said Benrahma’s 25-yard curler hit the bar, however three minutes after the break Neal Maupay put Canos through and the Spaniard fired home.

Maupay then headed against the bar, but with five minutes left volleyed into the path of Watkins who smashed the ball past Ben Amos.
