Snowing me snowing you

- EXCLUSIVE BY JANINE YAQOOB TV Editor

THESE p-p-perishingly cold emperor penguin chicks hugging in the snow are sure to melt millions of hearts. They are some of the stars in TV legend Sir David Attenborough’s new five-part BBC series. Dynasties, starting next Sunday night, looks at the trials and tribulations of families of animals. In the first episode, alpha male chimp David faces a life-or-death battle to overcome challenges to his leadership in Senegal, West Africa. Over the following weeks we will see emperor penguins fighting for survival, an extraordinary lioness trying to save her family, feuding wolves and a tigress defending her four new cubs. Bosses hope the show will match the huge success of last year’s Blue Planet II, which also raised awareness of plastic pollution. Sir David believes the series will highlight the modern problem of man encroaching on animals’ habitat. With such an amazing cast it is hard to see how Dynasties’ enchanting animal magic will fail to move the nation.
