Choudary and wife Rubana leave the Mcdonald’s and stroll on his outing from the hostel where he is staying It turned out the annoying woman talking during a special screening of new West End musical Funny Girl was its star – Sheridan herself. The actress had sneaked into a local cinema disguised under a baseball cap to watch her own performance Star Smith in the lead role as Brooklyn music hall singer Fanny Brice.

But Katie Bruce-green failed to recognise her as she shushed her – and didn’t believe her when she apologised and told her who she was. She only found out who she had told off when the 37-year-old HATE preacher Anjem Choudary tastes freedom – as he prepares to tuck into a Mcdonald’s meal.

Choudary, 51, was freed from prison last month after being jailed for inviting support to the Islamic State.

On Friday he was spotted ordering a burger and fries before tucking in at the restaurant with his wife Rubana.

An onlooker said: “I couldn’t see if it was a Happy Meal, but it certainly made Anjem smile. Given his apparent hatred for the West, it seemed ironic to see him inside one of its most celebrated symbols.”

Choudary – who once headed the al-muhajiroun network, an extremist group banned under terror laws – is staying at a North London bail hostel.

Choudary is on licence after serving half of a five-and-a-half-year sentence. star mentioned it on Twitter. Sheridan tweeted: “I snuck into a local cinema so I could watch it with u all and someone told me to shush and sit still. “Totally rained on my parade!” Red-faced Katie replied: “I am so sorry! That was me. Just didn’t recognise you! The baseball cap is a deceptive disguise in the dark and when you apologised I was too embarrassed to look at you properly even when you said: “I’m Sheridan.”

“My friends might actually kill me as we are huge fans.”

The Cilla and Gavin & Stacey star thanked fans for supporting the one-off showings at Vue Cinemas, saying: “You have no idea how much it means.”
