Star lifts the lid on seedy loos at his legendary nights

In that case I’ll have a fag

- Salma Hayek

was another Prince party in London. I went to the toilet and there was a guy in it.

“I remember getting really annoyed because I knew they were doing drugs in there and it turned out to be Steve Strange.

“I remember slagging them off saying, ‘What kind of guy does that?’

“That was the craziest party. I was innocent because I don’t smoke and I didn’t start drinking until late in life.”

Steve died in 2015 aged 55 following a well-documented battle with heroin.

Prince also battled showbiz excesses and died in 2016 aged 57. But he loved hanging out with female music stars, including Nicole Scherzinger, 40, and Corinne Bailey Rae, 39. Gabrielle, 48, continues: “Wherever he played, the manager would reach out and say, ‘Prince would love you to come over.’ “He wasn’t being flirty,” she insists. “He was a musician who loved talking to other musicians.” Gabrielle’s fabulous new single This Christmas and her album Under My Skin are both out now. Sticking with dearly departed stars, Gabrielle reflected on the late George Michael, who passed away in 2016, aged 53. “You would think with all that money he could be in a happier place but you recognise that people have demons. “It doesn’t matter how much money or talent they have got, somehow it’s not enough. It is a shame because he died too young, like Prince.” R.I.P.
