JUNGLE’S SCARLETT: GET ME ON STRICTLY

Star set for a new cha-cha-challenge

I’M A Celebrity’s Scarlett Moffatt could be up for a rumba in the jungle… after revealing she hopes to take part in Strictly.

The ITV presenter insists she has no “golden handcuffs” deal and is free to appear on the rival BBC show.

She said: “I’m not exclusive to ITV, so I can do what I want. I’ve always loved Strictly – I’d love to be on it.” Scarlett took up hosting I’m A Celebrity spin-off Extra Camp after winning the jungle show in 2016. She also joined Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway after hitting it off with her fellow Geordies. But that show is taking a break in 2019, leaving Scarlett tapping her toes. And the former Gogglebox star could be right at home on Strictly – she won around 600 trophies in ballroom and Latin dance as a child, and was even taught by Anton du Beke.

She has previously said that might give her too big an advantage – but Strictly Judge Craig Revel Horwood claims the show needs to sign good dancers to maintain its runaway success.

Scarlett, 28, revealed her hopes as she helped Ant and Dec celebrate their 18th presenting award at this week’s National Television Awards. She said of the duo: “It’s mad, they’re just so lovely.” The star, who has spoken in the past of panic attacks over body image, revealed she has been inspired by Jacqueline Wilson, creator of fictional troubled schoolgirl Tracy Beaker – and is keen to write a book for women. She said: “I’m inspired by the things she writes. I’d like to write about women’s issues, periods, that kind of thing.”
